Happy Birthday Mom!!

My mom turned a young 47 today!! WOW! I was thinking about her last night before I went to bed, reminding myself to call her first thing in the morning. If it wasn't for my momma, I obviously wouldn't be here, so...thanks mom for that. Here's some other things I'm thankful for.

Thanks, mom...for encouraging me to play softball when I was little.
Thanks, mom... for putting me in public school.
Thanks, mom... for putting up with me and my crappy grades/attitude in High School
Thanks, mom... for letting me stay in the house even when I wasn't going to college.
Thanks, mom... for putting food in our mouths and clothes on our back ALWAYS.
Thanks, mom... for not being a picky eater
Thanks, mom... for having a sensitive heart
Thanks, mom... for letting us go to Eric and Debbie's for Bible study when we were younger
Thanks mom... for always buying us the COOLEST trapper keeper notebooks
Thanks mom... for giving Steve a chance
Thanks mom... for loving my boys the way you do

All of these things have molded me into the person I've become. And, although I'm incredibly flawed, I can honestly say that I LOVE my life. I have peace and a SAVIOR. I love people and... most of all...I LOVE you.

Happy Birthday, Momma!

My Soccer Team!

So...me and a few of my best friends started a soccer team. There are only 5 of us right now, but we're planning on having 12 players by April so that we can join a REAL league. It's a ton of fun and great exercise. Today we ran sprints, a couple of drills and played a pretty intense 2 on 2 game. Our Team name is The Kicking Bitches. BECKY came up with the name, and I really liked it. The other girls insist that we should at least tell people that our team name is The Kicking "Babes"...but...I like the name Becky came up with, so it stays. Although Tara had a great point when she came to me concerned that our name might need to be changed because when we're presented as the "champions of east county", we wouldn't want the announcer to say our team name out loud. I'll reconsider when we cross that bridge. We had team pictures today. Here's one of all of us!

KARA FELBERG IS OUR AMAZING GOALIE...HER PREGNANT BELLY REALLY HELPS KEEP THE OTHER TEAM FROM SCORING!!!

Steve's New Song

Not sure what to call it yet, but here's a little sneak peak. I also posted lyrics. I think it's pretty awesome.

Verse:
Lord your power is so amazing
Through your perfect love I am changing
May my life reflect Your Majesty

Holy God almighty
Savior whose name is worthy
Lord we bow our hearts to worship you

Redeemer life restorer
Creator forever more
Oh Lord we’ll bow our hearts to worship you

Chicago Day Two

Today was a great day in Chicago. We had some GREAT breakout sessions and found out who's speaking at the Leadership Summit in August. After our meetings. We HIT THE TOWN! We drove round downtown Chicago and some street called miracle mile! I saw the Sears Tower and we got to eat the WORLD'S BEST PIZZA at GENO'S with some Canadian friends we met. I'm really having a great time with Rod, Jim, Jason and Sheri. I also met Kristen, the "Director of Ministry Development" at Willow. She's a pretty amazing person and I really hope we can keep in contact after this event, because she's full of some GREAT insight and has been influenced by some of the most amazing leaders in the world!
We're leaving tomorrow to be back home in time for our 7:00PM service. So...until then, here are some pictures from our day!

BBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

IT IS FREAKING COLD. EVERY TIME WE WALK OUTSIDE, IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE IS RIPPING OUR FACES OFF. OUCH!!!!

I've never been to the snow in a city. It's pretty cool. We made it to our hotel and to the church safely and we're having a great time! Jason and I got to sit in the control room for Willow's mid week service, and I have a HUGE list of different things that I would REALLY like to implement into our weekend services!

Anyway...here's a picture of me in the snow at Willow and a picture of the team minus Jim in the worship center.

Off to Chicago!!

Well...it's 9:25pm, and I think I'm all packed. I probably won't REALLY know if I'm all packed until -25 hits my skin.

My friends/coworkers Rod, Jason, Jim and Sheri are all going to the National Strategy Event for the Leadership Summit at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago for 2 days. Yes, short trip, I know. That's a good thing.

I am really excited to finally meet WILLOW. I've never been there, but I've been completely influenced by the way they "do church".

I'm going to really miss my 3 boys. It's actually been hard for me to get excited about this trip, because I really don't want to leave my kids and my sweet husband.

I have to keep reminding myself that this trip is ONLY 2 DAYS LONG. I better go unpack some stuff. I probably won't need my flip flops or my bathing suit.

I hope my trip to Chicago is as good as Michael Scott's trip to New York.
